Winfried Bullinger was born in 1965 in Munich, Germany. He studied fine art (painting) at the University of the Arts in Berlin. In 1993, Winfried Bullinger completed his studies there with the title of master student. In 1987 he spent a year studying at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town in South Africa. In 1995, Winfried Bullinger also completed a law degree and received his doctorate from the Humboldt University of Berlin in 1996 for his dissertation on artwork forgery and moral rights. In 2002, he became a partner in an international law firm and was appointed honorary professor at the Brandenburg University of Technology in 2003. Numerous stays for photography projects in various parts of Africa since the 1980s. He lives and works in Potsdam and Berlin.
